Dr Michael Heasman

Michael has worked as a social scientist specialising in food and nutrition policy, food business and society, and food systems for more than 25 years. His work has focused on food consumption problems, in particular ‘healthy eating’ and the impact of nutrition advice on food business and food marketing, innovation and strategy. He has also completed projects on community food security, local food economies, sustainable food systems, food regulation, the competitiveness of SME food businesses, jobs and skills in UK food business, and the UK’s industrial strategy in relation to food manufacturing. In recent years Michael’s work has focused on teaching and learning and he has held senior lecturer roles at universities in Denmark and the UK.

Michael has now left the RAU.
