Poldark film at the RAU for new series
The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester was delighted to welcome the cast and crew of BBC One’s Poldark on campus last week, to film for the second series.
The star-studded cast, including Adain Turner (Ross Poldark), Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza), Heida Reed (Elizabeth), and Jack Farthing (George Warleggan) descended upon the RAU Quad to film a Cornish market place scene, complete with markets stalls, vendors, and a local pub!
The popular Sunday evening drama, which is set in Bodmin, Cornwall in the 1790’s, hit the small screen earlier this year and captivated viewers with the volatile relationship between the handsome Ross Poldark and his fiery wife Demelza. It pulled in an audience of more than six million each week, and is back due to popular demand! The new series is set to be broadcast next spring.
An RAU spokesperson said: “It’s very exciting to see the RAU feature in series two of Poldark, we can’t wait to find out how the University fits into the storyline!”
