Module content

Recent advances in equine related scientific research, covering equine nutrition, genetics, parasitology, health and behaviour. Initial lectures 50:50 lectures and student-lead seminars. 

Module outcomes

To achieve credit for this module, students must be able to:

  1. Access information on scientific research
  2. Evaluate the application of that research to horse industry
  3. Present information in a concise structured manner
  4. Debate current issues facing the equine industry based on knowledge of the most recent research

Coursework 1 page of A4 font 10 review of a selected scientific topic 40%
Coursework 10 minute seminar on a given topic 50%
Coursework Interaction in group discussions 10%
