Module content

United Nations Food and Agriculture Business Principles including: food security; environmental responsibility; economic viability and share value; human rights and fair trade; good governance and accountability;  access and transfer of knowledge; skills and technology; agricultural, environmental and food policies and programmes; progressive accounting.

Module outcomes

To achieve credit for this module, students must be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of the key principles of sustainable business in the food and agriculture sector.
  2. Critically evaluate agri-business commitment to the key principles and performance against targets
  3. Propose sustainable management solutions to problems faced by a farm based business
