You will delve into all key aspects of the market, covering commercial, residential, industrial, retail, leisure, and recreational property. Teaching and learning will focus on the valuation, acquisition, sale, letting, development and management of property interests, and the relevant law and practice underpinning these functions.

As well as on-campus teaching, we will give you access to a virtual learning centre with a range of teaching materials and a vast electronic library as you learn about property valuation, business skills, law, finance, IT, economics, and management.
You will also find yourself benefiting from the expertise of your peers through group and individual presentations, student-led seminars, case studies, experiential learning and roleplay and business simulations.
Each year involves the study of four modules, which equates to 600 study hours. Campus-based teaching comprises two blocks of two-days for each set of four modules. There will be regular contact with module leaders and a dedicated personal tutor.
Assessment is based on study analysis, written coursework, and examinations.
The normal time taken to complete the course on a part-time basis is four years.
Upon successful completion of the Level 4 modules, you then progress to Level 5 modules. To achieve the award of Diploma of Higher Education in Real Estate Valuation a total of 240 credits must be accumulated; 120 credits at both Levels 4 and Level 5.
Timetables are normally available one month before registration. Please note that while we make every effort to ensure that timetables are as student-friendly as possible, scheduled teaching can take place on any day of the week. Wednesday afternoons are normally reserved for sports and societies activities.
Each module is worth a specified number of credits. Each credit equates to 10 hours of total study time. Total study time includes scheduled teaching, independent study and assessment activity.
Full-time students normally take modules worth 60 credits per 15 week semester but this can vary depending on your elective choice. Part-time students taking proportionally fewer credits per semester. All students take a total of 120 credits per level and 360 credits for the degree as a whole. Your overall grade for your degree is based on marks obtained for modules taken at level 5 and level 6 (weighted 30:70 accordingly.)

- A Level: CDD – min.80 UCAS Tariff points (to include at least three A Levels.)
- BTEC: MMP
- GCSE: (Minimum five GCSEs) - English and Mathematics (or Maths Numeracy for Welsh applicants) at Grade C or 4 are required.
- International Baccalaureate: 24 points.
- Access to HE: 45 credits at level 3, of which 30 must be awarded at Merit or higher. (Pass at Literacy & Numeracy skills at level 2 are accepted in lieu of GCSE English & Mathematics)
Alternative entry routes are available for a range of other qualifications. Prior experience is also considered, subject to approval by the programme manager and admissions staff.

Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or trailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework resubmission). Any costs associated with work placements will be the student's responsibility.
For the academic year 2018/19 the tuition fees for this course are:
