RAU Graduate Success
As well as a high employability rate, it has been revealed that the Royal Agricultural University has a high percentage of students in top level jobs.
The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) has recently confirmed that on average, over the last five years, 94% of students at the Royal Agricultural University gained appropriate employment or are undertaking further study within six months of graduation.
And, of these students, 67.5 % have gained professional and managerial positions, according to the Standard Occupational Classification codes.
The RAU places a high priority on preparing its graduates for the world of work, so it’s no surprise that our students are so successful in gaining employment. Courses at the RAU aim to give students a head start in the world of work and are tailored to meet the requirements of employers. From work placements to the RAU Entrepreneurs Club, and with the extensive RAU alumni group also supports graduates in getting the first step in their chosen career, students are well-supported throughout their time at Cirencester.
The RAU Careers team is also on-hand to provide advice and information to help students enter their chosen profession. The university also provides continuing support for recent graduates, with a dedicated service of advice.
“These survey results are very pleasing for the university - as well as for the graduates concerned,” comments Professor W Paul Davies. “It is basically a reflection of the considerable efforts we make to ensure our degree programmes are kept highly relevant to the land-based industries and professions we serve. The students benefit immensely from our on-going close relations with business and industry - and our sandwich degree programmes, in particular, provide tremendous work experience across the world, as part of the learning process.”
