My RAU experience
I chose to study Rural Land Management because I wanted to be involved with the agricultural industry as well as the rural community. The RICS accreditation was a real draw. I knew what I wanted to study, and decided to do so at the best agricultural university in the country.
During the course, I preferred the farming orientated modules the most, such as agriculture for land management, farm business management, estate management, and rural business diversification.
The contacts I made during my time at the RAU have been invaluable for my career
What I gained from the RAU
When I left the RAU, I secured a graduate job with George F White LLP, and qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. As a Rural Practice Surveyor, I am mainly involved in the land and farm agency work, compulsory purchase and compensation, and livestock farm sales.
The contacts I made during my time at the RAU have been invaluable for my career at George F White LLP. When undertaking valuations and professional work, I have a network across the UK who can help provide comparable evidence and advice.
