My RAU experience
One of my best choices ever?
Following a discussion with some family friends who had graduated from the Royal Agricultural University, they couldn’t rate it highly enough; in particular its impressive graduate employability rate which made it the perfect choice for me. After doing a little more research my mind was made up, the RAU is a university big enough to offer lots of facilities, social events and support, yet small enough to retain that ‘family feel’. The lecturers were extremely supportive and more than happy for you to ‘drop in’ for any help or advice whatever the circumstances.
The RAU’s impressive graduate employability rate made it the perfect choice for me.
Having attended boarding school in Bath I had already experienced the ‘away from home’ feeling, so having the RAU right on my doorstep was ideal. I was able to keep up my part-time job at a free-range chicken farm (which I absolutely loved), live at home and save on accommodation fees, and dip in and out of the social events as and when I pleased.
What I gained from the RAU
I certainly left the RAU with more than I bargained for – graduating with a First Class degree, winning an award for the ‘Best Dissertation’ on the course, and meeting friends that I’ll have for life! I am now working for St James’s Place in Cirencester, the UK’s leading wealth management organisation. I feel certain that my academic success and ongoing support from the staff at the RAU has enabled me to get to where I am today. Given half a chance I would happily do it all over again!
