We are pleased to announce that the Lycetts Summer Scholarship is now open for applications for 2023.
**This scholarship is now closed to applications.**
The Lycetts Summer Scholarship is a 10 week research project, giving you the opportunity to build a network of contacts and find out more about the world of insurance, as well as giving the chance to develop commercial research and presentations skills.
There are up to two scholarships available, exclusively to RAU students, at £2,500. To apply, you must be a current student on any course, including postgraduate courses.
Applications open on Friday 10 February and close at 12 noon on Friday 17 March, so you don’t have long to get yours in.
This year’s research areas are:
- Carbon Sequestration: insurance requirements and opportunities
Lycetts has established a team to research and develop the market and demand for insurance products to address the risks and exposures related to carbon sequestration (also known as carbon capture), carbon credits and the carbon market.
For the duration of the scholarship, you will be a full member of the team for the period of your scholarship providing primarily desk-based research input into the team and have full participation in the progression of these ideas and potential products. This will include seeing insurance product development in action and having your views taken into account as the project progresses. You will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss current and potential insurance products with underwriters directly as well as being part of the Lycetts carbon team.
- Rider Protect
Lycetts has developed a new Personal Accident and Sickness product for professional riders of all disciplines and at all levels.
This scholarship will focus on researching the routes to market for this product and gauge the level of interest to determine the best distribution channels for launch and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the product launch is as successful as possible.
You will be working closely with the Lycetts team, insurance underwriters, professional and other equine membership bodies and professional riders directly undertaking both desk research and face to face interviews.
