BSc (Hons) Real Estate

My RAU experience

Choosing to study at the RAU was a very easy decision for me. I wanted to go to a university where the course would provide me with a solid foundation for my future career. The BSc (Hons) Real Estate course provided me with the opportunity to study property from both commercial and residential aspects.

The course and the huge support provided by the lecturers gave me the confidence to choose a career in commercial professional practice.

It was particularly relevant with a vocational degree to ensure I obtained summer internships in surveying/ estate agency practices and this proved invaluable in understanding the relevance and application of coursework. Most importantly, the course and the huge support provided by the lecturers gave me the confidence to choose a career in commercial professional practice.

What I gained from the RAU

Having graduated in July 2014, I have since taken up a graduate position at JLL. Although any new job is daunting, it has been massively reassuring to rely on the relevance of my RAU acquired knowledge. I am now working towards my APC to become a Chartered Surveyor.

My time at Cirencester could not have gone faster. It was both challenging and enjoyable, creating a very engaging environment. Through case studies and report writing, the coursework prepared us for the real life skills expected of us after graduation. Beyond your chosen course, the RAU provides plenty of student life opportunities in social, practical and academic contexts.

I have left knowing I have made friends for life and look forward to returning for academic and social events for many years to come!
