Undergraduate entry requirements

See below for helpful information on entry requirements for undergraduate courses.

We accept a wide range of qualifications and experience to join our degree courses.

Course-specific requirements

You can find the entry requirements for our undergraduate courses on each individual course page.

The course page may also list any specific entry requirements, such as passes in particular subjects or specific grades, which may be a condition of entry.

Please check these to ensure you meet (or are working towards) the appropriate entry requirements for your chosen course.

Typically, all undergraduate applicants are expected to have minimum of 5 GCSEs with English and Maths (or Maths Numeracy for Welsh applicants) at grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with other qualifications or experience

The RAU welcomes interest from applicants who may not have the standard entry requirements.

We’ll always consider evidence of personal, professional and educational experience which show an ability to meet the demands of a degree.

Some courses require a specific subject at A-level (or equivalent) and it may not be possible to consider applicants without this prior study.

If you believe you have the motivation and skills to succeed, email [email protected] or call 01285 889912 and we can discuss your application.

Guaranteed offer

You may be eligible for a guaranteed offer if you’re from one of our link colleges, have been in care, from a non-white ethnic background, or live in an area with low progression rates to university.

International applicants

We welcome enquiries from international applicants. You may need to meet country specific and English language requirements to be eligible for undergraduate study.

For advice about entry requirements visit our country information pages or contact [email protected]. Alternatively, you can visit the Education UK website or contact our international team.
