This course immerses you in the world of creative business thinking, helping you to prepare for employment after university. We encourage our students to look at problems differently and come up with novel solutions. The compressed two-year programme, with 45 weeks of study each year, can be particularly beneficial for those students who want to limit costs or time taken to complete their studies.
This two-year degree provides a full degree programme using both traditional campus based experience and work-based learning modules. You will study on campus at the RAU alongside students on other courses, visit national and international companies and examine how various businesses and organisations are managed.
Work-based learning modules encourage you to understand the reality of the work environment and opportunities for innovation. Reflective and distance learning approaches will give you lifelong learning skills necessary for the complex rapidlychanging world of business. You will be fully supported with scheduled visits to campus to share your experiences with your teaching team, and learn from other students.
Your final project is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge, to build your CV and support your career goals. Working with colleagues, you will select a real world problem to focus on such as developing a new product or service, proposing a new communication or marketing strategy, changing business models or managing innovation projects.
This course has been co-designed by industry to develop the graduates they require in the future. Career development in the form of work based learning will take place from April-September between your first and second year. Companies such as Barclays, Waitrose and the NFU offer student placements via a competitive process. This work placement will enable you to work on a real-life problem and make recommendations in your final consultancy report.
