Planning your day
This page contains information to help ensure your graduation day run smoothly.
Schedule of the day
Make sure you have a look at the programme before graduation day. That way you can make plans and ensure your day runs smoothly.
When you get here
Information on how to reach the campus can be found here.
Parking will be available at the RAU campus, free of charge, but do remember to print your parking permit via your ‘My Convocation’ link through the Student Portal.
Please look at the campus map prior to your arrival to check which car park to use for your ceremony.
Admission to the ceremony for all guests is by ticket only. Guests include children. Every student is elegible for four tickets for guests. The graduating student does not need a ticket, however they much ensure they have booked.
If you're hiring your gown from Ede & Ravenscroft, you can collect your gown from the Frank Garner Block and have your photographs taken (if pre-booked).
Please note, students will not be permitted entry to the Convocation ceremony without a gown.
Arrival to your ceremony
As soon as you've collected your tickets and gown, go directly to the Church of St. John the Baptist (Parish Church) in Cirencester. You will need to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ceremony starts. A timetable for the day can be found here.
To avoid obstructing the view of other guests or causing a distraction, we ask your guests to take photographs from their seats.
Please avoid flash photography.
After the ceremony
Following the ceremony a University reception will be held outside on the RAU campus, or inside the main building in the case of bad weather.
Return of hired hoods and gowns
Before you leave, please return your academic dress to the Frank Garner Block on the day of your ceremony.
