Scholarships

The Royal Agricultural University offers a number of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of subject areas. In addition to this, a number of external organisations grant awards which may be of interest to RAU applicants.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's degree)

CAPE Diploma (Passes in minimum of six subjects is required) to include at least:   

  • For BSc (Hons) asking for 104 UCAS points = Three X 2-unit subjects (to include one science subject if required by programme) - Grades 2-3-3
  • BSc (Hons) asking for 96 UCAS points = Two X 2-unit subjects (to include one Science subject if required by programme) - Grades 3-3-3
  • Foundation degrees/IFY = One X 2-unit subject (to include one Science subject if required by programme) - Grades 3,4

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

Caribbean Examinations CSEC English Language grade C or above OR

IELTS Academic band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start date of the course.

*Applicants for Foundation degree courses must provide a Secure English language test (i.e. IELTS SELT). Please click here for more information on SELT providers.

Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate

Bachelor degree UWI grade 3.0/65% in a different discipline to that of the Diploma/Certificate applied for.

When studied at:

  • The University of the West Indies

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

If nationals -University degree suffices

Otherwise

IELTS Academic band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 6.0 in each component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start date of the course.

Postgraduate Taught (MSc and MBA)

Bachelor degree UWI grade 2.7/60%

When studied at

  • The University of the West Indies

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

If nationals -University degree suffices

Otherwise

IELTS Academic band score 6.5 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course.

Postgraduate Research

MScR: Bachelor degree UWI grade 3.0/65% in a related subject area.

When studied at:

  • The University of the West Indies

PhD: Master’s degree in a related subject area

when studied at:

  • The University of the West Indies

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

If nationals -University degree suffices

Otherwise

IELTS Academic band score of minimum 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in any other component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course.
