Cotswolds: Field & Folk film screening - Thursday 9 July 2026

We are delighted to be screening this new feature length documentary film Cotswolds: Field & Folk followed by a panel Q&A session hosted by Dame Fiona Reynolds, Chair of the RAU's Governing Council and High Sheriff of Gloucestershire 2026-2027 who is also featured in the film.

Our screening takes place less than a week after the film premieres at an exclusive, invite-only, red carpet event at Malmesbury Town Hall.

Created specially for the Cotswold National Landscape, Cotswolds: Field & Folk follows a year in the life of the people who farm, shape and care for the Cotswolds landscape.

Through the changing seasons, the film explores the deep connection between land, community and tradition, meeting the farmers, conservationists, historians and local voices whose lives are intertwined with this nationally cherished countryside.

From the challenges of modern agriculture to the enduring importance of heritage and stewardship, the documentary offers an intimate portrait of the people working to ensure the Cotswolds continues to thrive for generations to come.

After the screening, which will be introduced by RAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter McCaffery, there will be a Q&A panel session chaired by Dame Fiona Reynolds, who also features in the film.

The Q&A panel members will be:

  • Dame Fiona Reynolds, Chair of the RAU Governing Council and High Sheriff of Gloucestershire;
  • Rebecca Waite, Chief Executive of Cotswolds National Landscape;
  • Jonty Brunyee, Regenerative Farmer, Agroecological Consultant & Facilitator;
  • Jenny Phelps, Senior Farm Environment Adviser at Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG)

There is plenty of free parking available at the RAU campus which is just a short walk from the Emrys Jones Lecture Theatre which will be clearly signposted from the car park.

Guests are welcome to join us for refreshments (including popcorn!) from 6.00 pm in the Atrium Foyer (next to the lecture theatre) and the film screening will start promptly at 6.30 pm.
