Commercial Services, Estates & Facilities has a broad portfolio of activity that is managed through the blended working of three distinct teams.
The Estates & Facilities Team manages the overall condition of the estate, investing in our land and buildings, through our capital and maintenance programmes. In doing so we aim to maintain our heritage, provide a modern state-of-the-art learning environment, whilst reducing our carbon footprint towards net zero.
The directorate also provides a home to some of our most entrepreneurial and creative business functions through the Commercial Services team. This includes the RAU Equestrian Centre, which is home to our equine enterprise, and the vineyard which produces our award-winning Cotswold Hills Wine. We generate new business for the RAU through the conference and events functions, which maximise the estate to provide a range of events for external customers, from weddings and conferences to car shows and summer schools.
Finally, the Business Development Team works across the academic and commercial functions to support a range of partnership engagement activities. This includes support for international, research and knowledge exchange activities, and delivering our portfolio of professional training including executive education courses. The Team also leads our business innovation and growth activities, including hosting the Cirencester Growth Hub which works locally, regionally, and nationally to support networks of businesses and entrepreneurs across the sector, as well as Farm491, our own business incubator.
