Future Campus Competition
This is an exciting opportunity to enhance the beauty of our Cirencester campus and create a green space for future generations to enjoy
The demolition of the former laboratories, marks a new chapter for our campus and in parallel, the Green Quad Campus Competition has sparked remarkable engagement across our community, with staff and students submitting a wealth of imaginative proposals for how this central space could be transformed. The judges have now reviewed all of the submissions for the competition to choose 3 prize winners who are:
Sebastian Kilpatrick ~ innovative used of dry stone wall - establishing a landmark to contribute physically to the university’s identity and the use of QR codes
Andrea Cable ~ wonderful design with water features using pebbles and stones, alternate space for academic teaching and learning, lots of different materials, shared use, shady spots and accessible pathways connecting different zones of the quad.
Lily Clarke ~ detailed design with biodiversity and different plants provided a strong invitation to engage with the space
From innovative learning environments to vibrant social and ecological hubs, the ideas reflect the creativity and ambition that define RAU. There were lots of ideas that we felt have merit for the final design and we look foreward to keeping you updated on progress and are confident it will become a space enjoyed by all.
As we review these inspiring contributions and shape the future of the site, we invite everyone to watch this space—there is much more to come.
The top prizes were donated by Mr Martin Stanley, who also kindly funded the installation of the GAIA photography exhibition ‘We Feed The World’ at the RAU, which is on permanent loan.
