This page contains information to help ensure your graduation day runs smoothly.
Please note that specific date and timings will be confirmed in March 2027 for Graduation 2027.
Schedule of the day
Make sure you have a look at the Graduation day timetable before the graduation day. That way you can make plans and ensure your day runs smoothly. As graduation ceremonies are held in a marquee outside you may wish to bring an umbrella in case of rain as you make your way to it.
Pre-book accommodation
We have a limited amount of great value accommodation available for graduating RAU students, family and friends. Single, twin and double en-suite bedrooms are available.
- Single en-suite bedroom per night: £64.00
- Twin en-suite bedroom per night: £90.00
- Double en-suite bedroom per night: £105.00

Parking
There will be free parking available on the RAU campus. Please enter via the Stroud Road entrance. Parking Permits will be available through the RAU online shop. One permit per booking. Should you require an additional permit please email graduation@rau.ac.uk. Parking permits will be available from 1 June 2027.
Ticket collection
Admission to the Ceremony for all guests is by ticket only. Guests include children. The graduating student does not need a ticket; but they must ensure they have booked. Due to limited space, guest tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bring your confirmation email with you to the registration desk on campus on the day of your Ceremony to collect your tickets.
You will also be able to collect drink tokens from the registration desk on the day.
Gown collection
Your gown is hired from Ede and Ravenscroft. You will be advised where to collect your gown and have your photographs taken (if pre-booked).
Please note, students will not be permitted entry to the Graduation Ceremony without a gown.
Arrival at your ceremony
Once you have collected your tickets and gown, please proceed to the Graduation site located at the front of the University.
You must arrive at least one hour before your Ceremony. Please allow plenty of time for your journey, as late arrivals cannot take part in the Ceremony.
Please note that dogs are not permitted at the Ceremony, except for registered support dogs, and prior notification is required if you are bringing one.
Photography
Please avoid obstructing the view of other guests or causing a distraction when taking photographs.
Please avoid flash photography.
After the Ceremony
Return of hired hoods and gowns
Before you leave on the day, please return your academic dress.
