Marshal Papworth Scholarship

The Marshal Papworth scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Marshal Papworth, an English farmer and member of the East of England Agricultural Society.
The Marshal Papworth Scholarships are created to support postgraduate students from developing countries studying land-based courses in relation to Agriculture.
International students from developing countries who have been offered admission to the following programmes at the Royal Agricultural University can apply for a Marshal Papworth Scholarship. A list of qualifying countries can be found at marshalpapworth.com.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- hold an Unconditional firm offer for one of the above programmes
- hold the equivalent of a First Class/Upper Second Class Honours degree
- demonstrate work or voluntary experience working in community development and/or agricultural development projects and initiatives
This is a requirement for consideration of the scholarship application.
Applicants for September 2026
The closing date for the Marshal Papworth Scholarship for the Royal Agricultural University is 18 February 2026, 12:00 noon GMT. Late applications will not be considered.
Scholarship funds for September 2026 entry are in total £21,875 (covering £11,875 for tuition fees and £10,000 for living expenses).
A copy of the Marshal Papworth Application Form must be completed and returned to admissions@rau.ac.uk by the deadline above. Late applications will not be considered.
