Marshal Papworth Scholarship

The Marshal Papworth scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Marshal Papworth, an English farmer and member of the East of England Agricultural Society.

The Marshal Papworth Scholarships are created to support postgraduate students from developing countries studying land-based courses in relation to Agriculture.

International students from developing countries who have been offered admission to the following programmes at the Royal Agricultural University can apply for a Marshal Papworth Scholarship. A list of qualifying countries can be found at

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must hold an Unconditional firm offer for one of the above programmes. This is a requirement for consideration of the scholarship application. 

Applicants for September 2024

The closing date for the Marshal Papworth Scholarship for the Royal Agricultural University is 19 February 2024. Applications for the scholarships are made directly to the Royal Agricultural University

Scholarship funds for September 2024 entry are in total £21,875 (covering £11,875 for tuition fees and £10,000 for living expenses).

A copy of the Marshal Papworth Application Form must be completed and returned to  by the deadline above. Late applications will not be considered.
