SAFS African Research Grant

About the grant

  • This grant will help MSc Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security students from an African country with return flights and living costs for a month of field research as part of the degree
  • Three grants will be awarded each academic year

Eligibility

To be eligible for the grant you must:

  • Be an international student from an African country
  • Be a current student at the RAU on the MSc Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security course
  • Have passed at least 50% of taught modules or demonstrate good progress towards your MSc award
  • Your research focus needs to be in an African country

How do I apply?

  • You will need to submit your research proposal, which focuses on an African country, to your programme manager. It will then be reviewed by a panel by the end of April 2024

How will I know if my application has been successful?

  • The panel will let all students know the outcome of their application in May 2024
  • If successful, students will then complete their field research in June/July 2024

Further to the criteria above:

  • Students can only hold one RAU-managed scholarship at any time
  • Successful applicants will be contacted by the Development Office for information to share with the donors of this grant

  • The decision of the panel is based on the information provided on the research proposal. The decision of the panel is final
