The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors/Pathways to Property bursary scheme is designed to help students into a career in property. If you are successful, you will receive £10,000 per annum for 3 years of academic study.

About the bursary

The bursary is facilitated by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors, (WCCS). They are an established livery company who have education, diversity and equality at its heart. You can find out more about them at https://surveyorslivery.org.uk/

They try to award to those students for whom going to university might be difficult without financial assistance.  They are also looking for students who are actively interested in surveying as a career – there is opportunity for you to tell them about that at the end of the application form. If you are shortlisted, then they will book time for a short chat with you (about 15mins) to see whether you might be the right person for the bursary package.

The package is £10,000 per year, and access to an industry sponsor and mentor. You also have regular contact with the Education Programme Manager who is responsible for communication and liaison with all students, sponsors and mentors. You will be expected to stay in touch with the Education Programme Manager on at least a termly basis and also keep in contact with your sponsor.  Work experience is often offered, and we also support you later in your degree with a careers service.

The bursary programme prides itself on being more than financial assistance – it is a pathway to career opportunities and networking across the 3 years of your degree.

Eligibility

The award is based on financial and family needs. This will be ascertained by the answers you provide in the application form. We would encourage everyone to apply because economic need is not the only determining factor.
