Scholarships
The Royal Agricultural University offers a number of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of subject areas. In addition to this, a number of external organisations grant awards which may be of interest to RAU applicants.

UK-Argentina BEC.AR Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme
Argentinian students applying to study at the RAU can also apply for a BE.CAR Postgraduate Scholarship.
The scheme is fully managed by BEC.AR.

English Language Courses
Students wishing to pursue an English Language programme in the UK prior to commencing their academic programme at the Royal Agricultural University can do so with our partner INTO, based in London.

Undergraduate (Foundation degree)
Applicants with:
- Secondary school qualifications (Licencia de Educación / Enseñanza Media) will need to undertake an International Foundation Year for entry to undergraduate courses at the RAU.
- Técnico Superior / Técnico Universitario will be considered for entry to Foundation degree programmes.
- Grado de Bachiller/Bachillerato (studied for a min. of 2 years) will be considered for admission to the first year of our foundation degree course
Applicants with IB, EB, UK or US qualifications:
- International Baccalaureate min. 24 points, A-levels or USA or other international equiv. qualifications for foundation degree programmes please see relevant RAU web pages.
Undergraduate (Bachelor's degree)
Applicants with:
- Secondary school qualifications (Licencia de Educación / Enseñanza Media) will need to undertake an International Foundation Year for entry to undergraduate courses at the RAU.
- Técnico Superior / Técnico Universitario will be considered for entry to Foundation degree programmes.

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- Undergraduate courses: IELTS band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component of the ‘academic’ IELTS test. The test must have been taken within two years of the start date of the course
- *Applicants for Foundation degree courses must provide a Secure English Language Test (i.e. UKVI IELTS). Please click here for more information on SELT providers.
Transfer into Year 2 or Year 3 :
Academic transfers to RAU into Years 2 and 3 are possible. Contact admissions@rau.ac.uk to find out more.
Postgraduate (MSc and MBA)
Typically we require a Bachelor’s Honours degree or Grado de Licenciado [ ]
- Bachelor Honours degree 2:1 = minimum grade 5.5 - Bueno
- Bachelor Honours degree 2:2 = minimum grade 5.0 - Bueno
IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- IELTS band score 6.5 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component of the ‘academic’ IELTS test. The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course
Postgraduate Research
- For entry to the MSc by Research applicants are expected to hold the equivalent of a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree (2:1). See Postgraduate Taught entry criteria above for equivalent Chilean qualifications
- For entry to the PhD programme we would require applicants to hold a Master’s degree (Grado de Magister).
Mature candidates with significant relevant work experience and lower academic qualifications may also be considered for entry, following personal interview with the Director of Research.
IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- IELTS (Academic) band score of minimum 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in any other component. (The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course)

Applying to the RAU
Undergraduate
