Every year the RAU welcomes students from across Fiji who come to the UK to receive a world-class education. The International Team at RAU are always keen to help and support International students seeking education opportunities in the UK.

At the RAU we offer a variety of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programmes.

Scholarships

The Royal Agricultural University offers a number of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of subject areas. In addition to this, a number of external organisations grant awards which may be of interest to RAU applicants.

English language courses

Students wishing to pursue an English Language programme in the UK prior to commencing their academic programme at the Royal Agricultural University can do so with our partner INTO, based in London.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's degree)

Applicants with Secondary School qualifications (Fiji Year 13 Certificate or Certificate in Foundation Studies) will need to undertake an International Foundation Year (IFP).

Applicants with successful completion of Year 1 study of a Bachelor degree programme from an approved HE institution may be considered for direct entry to Year 1 of an FdSc/BSc programme where study was in a relevant subject.

Applicants with A-levels, International Baccalaureate, New Zealand, Australia, USA or other international qualifications will be considered, see relevant RAU course pages.

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

  • IELTS Academic band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component.The test must have been taken within two years of the start date of the course.

*Applicants for Foundation degree courses must provide a Secure English Language Test (i.e. IELTS SELT). Please see more information on SELT providers.

​Graduate Diploma/Graduate Certificate

UK Bachelor degree 2:1 or higher in a different discipline to that of the Diploma/Certificate applied for

OR

  • Bachelor degree from the University of South Pacific
  • Bachelor degree from other recognised universities

Equivalencies

  • 2:1 = University South Pacific min 78% A / Other Universities grade A-
  • 2:2 = University South Pacific min 71% B+ / Other Universities grade B+

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

  • IELTS Academic band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 6.0 in each component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start date of the course. 

Postgraduate Taught (MSc and MBA)

UK Bachelor degree Second class or higher

OR

  • Bachelor degree from the University of South Pacific
  • Bachelor degree from other recognised universities

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

  • IELTS Academic band score 6.5 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course.

Postgraduate Research

For entry to the MSc by Research applicants are expected to hold a UK Bachelor degree - Upper Second class in a relevant subject area.

OR

  • Bachelor degree from the University of South Pacific
  • Bachelor degree from other recognised universities

For entry to the PhD programme we would require applicants to hold a UK Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or Master's degree.

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications

  • IELTS band score of minimum 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in any other component. The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course.
