Faith at the RAU
The aim of our multi-faith chaplaincy is to support all students and staff at the University - of all faiths and none. To achieve this the chaplaincy provides access to additional associate chaplains from other faiths.
The University Chapel and Chaplaincy
The Chapel of St George the Martyr is situated in the University's historic Quad, opposite the entrance to the University's main Dining Room. It is an ecumenical Christian chapel and is open to all daily for worship, music, reflection, and meditation.
During term time, services are held in the Chapel and the dates and times are published on noticeboard just outside the Chapel as well as on other noticeboards throughout the University and on social media. Please come and join a service or just enjoy the stillness of the beautiful chapel at other times when it is open.

The chapel is licensed for marriages and baptisms and has been used by staff, students, and alumni for such occasions. Termly student services are held including Remembrance, Harvest, Christmas carols, and Easter.
The Chaplaincy offers opportunities to share with others in worship and in other informal groups for further awareness such as Bible Study, prayer times and meditation, social occasions, and one-to-one conversation. Details of these are advertised on the social calendar and the University noticeboards.
The RAU Chapel is supported by three Chaplains appointed by the University – Rev Canon Graham Morris, Pastor Matt Frost, and Associate Chaplain Luke Campbell. The Chaplains visit the University on a weekly basis (hours vary) and are available for appointment by request. The Cirencester Churches Together Group also has details of all Christian churches in the town - these are also provided in the Chapel lobby.
In addition to the Chapel, we also have a faith and reflection room for the use of all faiths and the chaplaincy assistants offer a multi-faith contact point.
