If you'd prefer to talk to a therapist or advisor over the phone, you can also call Health Assured’s FREE 24/7 Student Wellbeing Helpline on: 0800 028 3766.

You can also call the Samaritans on 116 123 for 24/7 support, 365 days a year.

General wellness tips:

  • Exercise regularly and get plenty of fresh air and sunlight.
  • Meet up with the other students who are staying on campus over the winter break.
  • Make a list of things you’re looking forward to in December and beyond, such as Christmas specials, book releases, holidays, and events coming in the new year.

For more advice, read this Student Minds guide to staying at university over the winter break. Student Minds also cover a range of other topics that may help, such as dealing with bereavement over the winter break, or suggestions for coping with going home when you don’t want to.
