I decided to study the BSc (Hons) Agriculture course at the Royal Agricultural University because I wasn’t sure which area of agriculture I wanted to pursue. The course has given me good overall knowledge, and allowed me to specialise in my third year.

I have loved my time at the RAU. I love how personable it is. I remember being taken on a campus tour before I started, and being told ‘everyone knows everyone’ and it really is true. You get to know all of the students, and build relationships with your lecturers too – something that none of my friends at other universities could do.

The RAU has given me the skills and confidence to succeed in which ever career path I choose.

On graduation, I have been offered a job helping to manage and develop a relatively new integrated beef system, which I am really excited about and am looking forward to seeing where it takes me. I hope to work towards building a more sustainable and efficient beef industry for the future.

The RAU has given me the skills and confidence to succeed in which ever career path I choose. The course content gave me a good grounding in agriculture knowledge, while lecturers constantly challenged and encouraged me to voice my opinions, to question the status quo, and to critically analyse all options to ensure I considered the positives and the negatives. All of which are valuable key skills for my future career in agriculture.
