Our business

We are a long-established firm of Chartered Surveyors, Land and Estate Agents, and Valuers, providing professional property services across the residential, agricultural, and commercial sectors. Our work includes sales and lettings of farms, land, and homes; rural estate management; planning and development consultancy; and specialist valuations. Established in 1898, we serve clients throughout Worcestershire and the surrounding counties.

We are a regional firm based in Great Witley, Worcestershire, employing around 15–20 staff, including several RICS-qualified Chartered Surveyors and property professionals. Our operations focus primarily on Worcestershire and neighbouring counties.

RAU Student work placements

We had an RAU student with us over the summer who made a very positive impression. The student joined us for a one-week placement within our Land Agency department. During the week, she was involved in a range of professional activities including farm agency, estate management, valuations, and compulsory purchase and compensation work. She shadowed surveyors on site visits, assisted with property inspections, contributed to report preparation, and gained insight into the day-to-day operations of a rural surveying practice.

She showed real enthusiasm for the work and quickly got involved in a variety of tasks, from farm agency and valuations to estate management. She asked thoughtful questions, picked things up quickly, and showed confidence when dealing with new situations.

The student was a credit to her course, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and a genuine interest in rural practice. She asked thoughtful and relevant questions, quickly grasped key concepts, and contributed positively to discussions. Her professional attitude, confidence, and willingness to learn exceeded expectations and made her a valued temporary member of the team.

What we look for in a Graduate

Should opportunities arise in the future, graduates would typically join us as General Practice Rural or Commercial Surveyors. These roles would involve a broad range of professional work including farm and land agency, estate management, valuations, and rural development consultancy. Graduates would be supported through their APC training with a view to achieving RICS qualification.

Above all else, we look for the enthusiasm and drive to do the job. Most of what we do as surveyors is learnt through experience; but it's the willingness to get stuck in and the motivation to do it well that really stands out. The desire to learn, improve, and deliver for clients is essential. While grades have their place, success in this profession comes from curiosity, adaptability, and commitment. The best surveyors are not always the top of the class, they are the ones who take initiative, work hard, and find solutions.
