My RAU experience

My time at the Royal Agricultural University has had an important and positive influence on my life, I’m so glad that I chose to study here for my degree. From the moment I saw the beautiful setting of the campus, and the welcoming and reassuring attitude of the staff, I felt sure that I had made the right choice – and that feeling was reinforced throughout my course.

The campus environment felt safe and secure for students, which helped make me feel settled, comfortable, and confident. Lecturers were supportive and encouraging, and were always ready to share their time, expertise, and knowledge.

The Royal Agricultural University is so much more than a university – it’s a solid platform on which to build a future.

The ability to select from a range of modules was very important, allowing me to study topics which were both interesting to me and relevant to my preferred career aims. The research required for my dissertation pushed me to take opportunities outside of my comfort zone, such as making contacts the length of the country to gather practical data from successful business enterprises. In doing so I had the opportunity to meet people who were very kind in giving their time; some of whom have become good friends, and some of whom were inspirational.

What I gained from the RAU

Meeting people at the RAU, making lifelong friends, and succeeding in gaining my degree has helped me gain confidence and kick-start my career.

On graduating, I worked for Frontier Agriculture on the arable side of the business, covering trial plots research, grain quality, and agronomy. I am now an Account Manager for an international abattoir. The Royal Agricultural University is so much more than a university – it’s a solid platform on which to build a future.
