Transcript of Agriculture Courses video

The opportunities the RAU has given me are beyond my wildest dreams.

It's given me the confidence to pursue a career in agriculture.

We have a three-year honours degree which includes the short placement and we have a four-year degree that includes a one-year placement.

There's such a family vibe, especially with the lecturers, they know who you are and they can tailor the lecturing to you.

You're a name not a number which I'm really enjoying, I really like the conversation you can have with your lecturers.

The areas we cover on the degree course will be farm management, accounts and finance, and human resource management, crop biology crop production, animal science, farm mechanization, innovation technology.

My favourite aspects of the course are going on farm walks, visiting the dairy units, looking at the requirements for the cows, looking at their living conditions and, that's been a really exciting process having the hands-on experience to then bring back to the classroom.

My favourite aspect of the course is the mix of teaching - one minute you're outside in the field, the next you're in the classroom, it's not for anybody particularly academic or particularly practical, it's a huge mix, so you get best of both worlds.

It's really interactive, you're always doing something, it's been really good.

We have an extensive network of farming businesses within 10, 20, 25 miles radius of the campus, some are more diversified, some are specialists, some are mixed farms, so they get a real insight into the broad spectrum of how farms are set up from an organizational perspective.

This is a specialist university they really focus on the nitty-gritty of agriculture, really give you that in-depth learning that you can expand to your future career in agriculture.

I'd say to a potential student that it's the best thing I've ever done. I never looked back, I absolutely

love it and if they feel like they should do it, absolutely go for it. [Music] [Applause]
