We were proud to fly our Go Green flag from the clocktower throughout the week as a symbol of our collective commitment to sustainability.

Last week, our university community came together for Go Green Week, a fantastic series of events aimed at raising awareness about sustainability and promoting eco-friendly practices.

Cirencester food bank visited the RAU to inform students and staff about the importance of their work and we are delighted to report that 20 enthusiastic students volunteered for the upcoming Tesco Winter Collection, which will take place and the end of November. Not only will the students' efforts supports the community, but each volunteer will receive a Recognition of Volunteering award, providing a valuable addition to their CVs or LinkedIn profiles.

Thank you to everyone who supported the RAU’s first ever Go Green Week last week.

There were lots of different events including a food bank collection, plant pot painting, a mending workshop, a tree planting and a ‘no print day’. We hope to make Go Green Week a regular event in the RAU calendar.

The RAU campus is home to the Cirencester Parkrun which takes place on our beautiful campus every Saturday at 9:00am. It’s a fun and friendly weekly 5k community event and you can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate. This week Parkrun is supporting our Go Green Week by encouraging sustainable means of transport to and from the event.

If running isn’t your thing, then why not take your time and enjoy our self-guided Wild Campus tour? Maps can be collected from Porters Lodge.

Please join us for another session of Mindfulness Pilates in Kenneth Russell today at 1:00pm.

Today we’re holding the RAU’s exclusive screening of Six Inches of Soil. The screening will take place in the Boutflour Hall. The event starts at 5:30pm for refreshments and the screening itself will start at 7:10pm and finish at 8:45pm.

Today is our No Print Day. Please always remember to Think Before You Print and only print something if it is absolutely necessary.

Please join Matt Frost, one of the RAU Chaplains, for a service in the Chapel at 6:00pm today where he has prepared a sustainability themed service especially for Go Green Week.

The Vice-Chancellor and Student Union will be planting a tree to commemorate Go Green Week 2024 taking place outside Bathurst Wing at 2:15.

We have lots of activities taking place in the Boutflour Hall today, including ‘paint your own plant pot’ mending workshop with the Craft Society; Craft Society Stall with proceeds to a wildlife charity; a clothing and book swap; and a Conservation Society stand.

15 April 2024 – Today is our first Go Green Week!

Very excited to hold our first Go Green Week. Lots of activities taking place across campus including Planet Earth III screening this afternoon in the Parkinson Lecture Theatre from 3:00pm to 5:00pm today.

Matt Frost, from Cirencester Baptist Church, and Anton Wynn, from Cirencester Foodbank, will both be in the Atrium from 1:00pm to 3:00pm to answer all your questions about donating to this worthwhile cause. More information about what to donate can also be found in our newsletter, which will also be sent out every day this week advertising what’s on.
