Our Applied Science Strategies for Educators course is aimed at educators in schools and colleges, delivering science and technical subjects 16+ students, who are eager to enhance their practical teaching skills.

Who is the course suitable for?
- teachers delivering science and technical subjects to students aged 16+ years
- teaching assistants and technicians supporting the delivery of science and technical subjects to students aged 16+ years
What you’ll achieve at the end of the course
Delegates will learn how to:
- develop high-impact practical science lessons, whether a hands-on dissection or lab-based investigation
- embed industry applications into science teaching, making practical lessons relevant to careers in science, agriculture and animal care
- create an inclusive science education teaching environment, including strategies to support diverse learners, neurodivergent students, and underrepresented groups in science education
These learning outcomes align with key gaps frequently identified in FE College Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Ofsted reports.
How is the course delivered?
We offer our course face-to-face on our RAU campus at Cirencester over one day.
We adopt a blended learning approach, combining lecture-delivered theory and demonstrations by course leaders, with supervised, practical activities, to promote understanding of and engagement with course content amongst delegates.
