Do you have your sights set on a career in the world of corporate finance, event management or consultancy on the international stage? Whatever your ambitions, our BSc in International Business Management, which is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, will help you get there.
Business students have the opportunity to work with real start-up enterprises based at the Gloucestershire Growth Hub on campus, using their knowledge to find and implement solutions to current industry problems.
You will visit entrepreneurs on a free study tour to Europe with previous destinations including Spain and Germany. You will also network and gain business contacts before you graduate at careers fairs, as well as having access to our Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Programme. Upon completion of the degree you will receive the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership. Annual membership to CMI is free for one year after graduation.
For the duration of the International Business Management course, you will have associate membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
In the second year, you will apply and develop your expertise during a 15 to 20-week work placement. If you wish to undertake an extended period of work placement there is the option to pause your studies and complete a 12 or 18 month period in the workplace.
Not only could you find yourself working for prestigious companies in the UK or across the world, you will develop confidence and industry contacts for when you graduate.
International study tour
As part of the 'Entrepreneur in Action' module which is taken in the first year, the entire course of students are taken on a free study tour to a foreign country. In the last three years, we have visited Spain, Bulgaria and Germany. During these study tours we visit entrepreneurs and their businesses with a view to learn the character traits of successful entrepreneurs and how this can be applied to your own personal development. All travel, accommodation and breakfasts are paid for by the University and it provides you with an amazing experience to meet agri-entrepreneurs.

- A Level: CCC – min.96 UCAS Tariff points (to include at least two A Level passes)
- BTEC: MMM
- GCSE: (Minimum five GCSEs) - English and Mathematics (or Maths Numeracy for Welsh applicants) at Grade C / 4 or higher are required.
- International Baccalaureate: 26 points.
- Access to HE: 45 credits at level 3, of which 15 must be awarded at Distinction (Pass at Literacy & Numeracy skills at level 2 are accepted in lieu of GCSE English & Mathematics)
The Royal Agricultural University is an endorsing institution under the Home Office’s Start-up visa route. The Start-up visa is for graduates who demonstrate high entrepreneurial potential and wish to start a business in the UK for the first time.

Employability Standards are built into every module. These are designed by the School of Business and Entrepreneurship in consultation with employers – so you will always be able to see the employability relevance of what you are studying.
You will learn through lectures, tutorials, visiting lecturers, student and tutor-led seminars, directed reading, problem-based and experiential learning and case studies. Modules are assessed through exams, essays, reports, presentations, and group work. The Research Project is an integral part of the course. Completed in your third year, it provides the opportunity to study in-depth a subject of specific interest or of direct relevance to your future employment.
Timetables are normally available one month before registration. Please note that while we make every effort to ensure that timetables are as student-friendly as possible, scheduled teaching can take place on any day of the week. Wednesday afternoons are normally reserved for sports and societies activities.
Each module is worth a specified number of credits. Each credit equates to 10 hours of total study time. Total study time includes scheduled teaching, independent study and assessment activity.
Full-time students normally take modules worth 60 credits per 15 week semester but this can vary depending on your elective choice. Part-time students taking proportionally fewer credits per semester. All students take a total of 120 credits per level and 360 credits for the degree as a whole. Your overall grade for your degree is based on marks obtained for modules taken at level 5 and level 6 (weighted 30:70 accordingly)

Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or trailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework resubmission). Any costs associated with work placements will be the student's responsibility.
- Re-sit examination or coursework re-submission fees are £5 per credit (for a typical 15 credit module, this will total £75)
