Professor Duncan Westbury

Biography 

Professor Duncan Westbury joined the Royal Agricultural University in September 2023 after over 12 years at the University of Worcester and nine years at the University of Reading. He has a very strong background in applying ecological principles to habitat creation and management, with specific research experience on the management of agroecosystems to support biodiversity whilst simultaneously supporting ecosystem services within agricultural landscapes.

Biography 

Tracy graduated from the University of Central Lancashire (Myerscough College) in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science and Management. She went on to work practically in the equine industry as a rider, coach, and trainer of young horses until she joined the team at Bishop Burton College as a Lecturer in Equine Science in 2011.

Lecturer in Agricultural Sciences

Lindah Muzangwa is a dedicated crop scientist and agronomist with over 15 years of expertise in open-field agronomy, crop experimentation, laboratory analysis and teaching. Her extensive body of work, primarily focused in Africa, has significantly advanced the implementation of sustainable cropping systems in the face of evolving climate conditions. She tailors her efforts to cater to the needs of both small-scale and commercial farming environments.

Royal Agricultural University awarded prestigious silver ranking for its teaching excellence

Staff and students at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) are celebrating this week after both the student experience and student outcomes at the University were commended as being of “typically very high quality” in this year’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), announced this morning.

 

The Cirencester-based university, which was founded in 1845 and celebrates its tenth year as a University this year, was awarded Silver in the latest TEF ratings, a national scheme run by the Office for Students (OfS).

Honorary Professor Lianhai Wu

Biography 

Professor Lianhai Wu is interested in the areas of the interaction of plants with their physical environment, climate change, carbon sequestration, nutrient and water use efficiencies, mitigation of nitrogen pollution and systems modelling. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers and developed a process-based model – SPACSYS. Lianhai retired from Rothamsted Research in 2023.
