Clyde Higgs Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust, the Royal Agricultural University is delighted to be able to extend scholarships for new applicants this September.
About the scholarship
- The award is worth up to £3,000 per annum for one year of full-time study at the RAU
- Part time scholars will be awarded a pro rata percentage of the £5,000 divided between the numbers of years of study
- Paid in three instalments in Autumn, Spring and Summer
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award you must:
- Have received an agreed offer after the original deadline of 11 June, to study on one of the following courses:
- MSc Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
- MSc Agricultural Technology and Innovation
- MSc Agroecology
- Graduate Diploma in Agriculture
- PgDip in Agricultural Technology and Innovation
- PgDip Agroecology
- PgDip in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
- PgCert Regenerative Farming
- PgCert in Agricultural Technology and Innovation
- PgCert in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
- MBA Food and Agriculture
- PgDip Business Administration (Food and Agriculture)
- PhD Programme (where this is an agriculture focus)
- MSc by Research (where this is an agriculture focus)
- BSc (Hons) Agriculture
- FdSc Agriculture and Farm Management
- BSc (Hons) Agri-Management (Top-up)
- BSc (Hons) Agricultural Business Management
- Demonstrate a passion for Agriculture
- Provide evidence of leadership potential
- UK students only
How do I apply?
- Please apply using the online application form
- Ask your referee to complete the online reference form or print and complete a PDF version of the reference form
- Please note that the referee should be your most recent school/university tutor or employer
- We are unable to accept references from family members
- Scholarship applications cannot be considered without a satisfactory reference
Deadline for applications
All applications must be received by 6:00pm, 12 September 2025.
How will I know if my application has been successful?
All applicants will be informed in writing of the outcome, once a decision has been made and no later than the end of September 2025.
Criteria for continuation
- Students in receipt of this award must pass each year of study at their first attempt
- Successful applicants may be contacted by the Development Officer for information to share with the donors of this scholarship
- Failure to comply with the above will result in the removal of the award for subsequent years
Terms and conditions
Further to the criteria above:
- Only one RAU-managed scholarship can be held at any one time
- The RAU endeavours to ensure that this information is correct. However, the RAU accepts no legal liability for errors or omissions and reserves the right to make changes without notice
- The decision of the Scholarship Committee is based on the information provided on the application form and in the supporting references. The decision of the Committee is final
