My RAU experience

The Royal Agricultural University stood out as the ideal place to pursue my degree because it combines centuries-old agricultural expertise with a forward-looking approach. Positive testimonials from current students and alumni further reinforced my decision. A rich heritage, affordability, exceptional facilities, supportive tutors, and clear career pathways, made the RAU my unequivocal choice for advancing my ambitions in agricultural science.

My RAU experience

I chose to study at the RAU because it is a small close-knit university offering a unique range of courses, and one of a few that specified a degree in environment and sustainability.

Join the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) at our Community Open Day as we celebrate our 180th Anniversary.

The Royal Agricultural College (RAC), now the Royal Agricultural University (RAU), was the first agricultural college in the English speaking world with the first students enrolled in September 1845. Join us for a day of 180th anniversary celebrations, including a lecture about the history of the RAU, activities that all of the family can enjoy, tours of the campus and much more. A sculpture of a ram’s head – made from steel rods recycled from old farm machinery by a young arts student from Hay on Wye – has been unveiled to mark the 180th anniversary of the Royal Agricultural University (RAU).

Seventeen-year-old Harlan Beales, who is currently studying for an extended diploma in Art, Design and Creative Practice at Hereford College of Arts, designed the sculpture, which has been named Aries, in tandem with former RAU student Will Carr before fabricating it by himself.

Today, we’re going to give you a bit of a campus tour, just so you have a bit of an idea what it’s like to be a student here.

So right now, we’re walking up the main driveway it is absolutely beautiful, and this is the Main Building and you can see our gorgeous clock tower. Students love to get their photos taken here, especially on graduation day which you can really look forward to if you come.
