Semester dates

Please note that the semester dates below relate to the general teaching and examination periods at the University.

The Royal Agricultural University is similar to the majority of other British universities and operates its academic delivery via semesters. Programmes are taught across two semesters. For most students, your course will be taught and assessed in each semester with an examination period towards the end of each semester.

Sir Emrys Jones Memorial Trust undergraduate award

William Emrys Jones, was a leading figure in the rejuvenation of agricultural production after World War II and had a great influence on British farming. He worked as Chief Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture from 1967 to 1973 and was Director of the Government’s Agricultural and Development Advisory Service.

Sir Emrys Jones was Principal of the Royal Agricultural College from 1974 to 1979. He forged strong links with industry and oversaw significant developments in educational standards and facilities at the College.

RAU Sports Scholarships

The RAU Sports Scholarships are awarded to students with an outstanding ability in an elite sport to assist their development and raise the profile of the University through their sporting endeavours.

About the scholarship

  • The award is worth up to a maximum of £4,000 for one year only, but re-applications for each year of study are welcomed
  • Part-time scholars will be awarded a pro rata percentage of the award divided between the numbers of years of study
  • Amount of award dependent on level of attainment i.e.
