Academic Support

Higher Education can be a big leap from ‘A’ levels or a career change pathway. As well as attending lectures, seminars and tutorials, you will also need to be self-motivated during your own private study time. But don’t worry, as long as you’re committed there is plenty of support on offer to help you on the path to success.

Personal tutors

You will be allocated a member of academic staff who will be your Academic Support Tutor (AST) for your time here.

Faith at the RAU

The aim of the multi-faith chaplaincy is to support all students and staff at the University, to support all faiths and none within “faith in the university”. To achieve this the chaplaincy provides additional associate chaplains of other faiths.

The University Chapel and Chaplaincy

The Chapel of St George the Martyr is situated in the Quad, opposite the entrance to the dining room. It is an ecumenical Christian chapel and is open to students for worship, music, reflection and meditation on a daily basis.

Student handbook, policies and procedures

The student handbook provides information about all aspects of university life.

It contains the sources of help and support available to you, sporting and social opportunities, accommodation and leisure facilities and the key regulations which apply to all students.

We hope you will refer to it regularly, throughout your time at the RAU, so that you can take full advantage of all that the University has to offer.

Support, wellbeing and counselling

We want to make sure that your time at RAU is both rewarding and fulfilling. We all have times in life when we could do with a little extra support.

Student Hub

You can find the Hub in the Emrys Jones building at the heart of the Cirencester campus – it’s easy for students to access a range of university services.

Visit the Hub’s helpdesk to ask for help with:

University bar

The Tithe is your student bar on campus. Here in ‘The Tithe’ our goal is to provide a safe environment for a student to relax, have a drink and socialise.

We strive to create a fun and unique atmosphere where all students feel welcomed.

‘The Tithe’ is the social hub of the University, and caters for many events throughout the year. Some of these events are;

RAU Equestrian Centre

The Equestrian Centre is the home of the Royal Agricultural University equine enterprise, situated in glorious Cotswold countryside and within easy reach of the main University campus.

Living in campus accommodation

When you’re at university, your room is your space to call 'home' and where you live can play an important role in making new friends.

There are a lot of benefits to living on-campus at the RAU. You’ll get to know the University, have your lectures on your doorstep and be right in the heart of the action.
