Plumpton College and the Royal Agricultural University have announced plans for a new partnership that will enhance university education, research and consultancy for the land-based sector in the South East.

Building on the strong reputation the institutions have in land management, agri-business and wine, a range of courses will be available from this September up to postgraduate level at the Plumpton College campus just outside Brighton, subject to validation.

Lambing weekend at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) went ahead despite the icy weather, with several new arrivals contributing to the total of 300 lambs born so far this season.

Over 200 people came to the University’s Harnhill Manor Farm on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March 2018 to find out what goes on during this critical time in the rural calendar.

The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester is thrilled to have been shortlisted for a Whatuni Student Choice Award 2018.

Based on ratings by students, the University has received a nomination in the ‘Job Prospects’ category which is testament to the RAU’s consistently high student employability figures: on average over the past five years, 95% of undergraduates enter employment or further study within six months of graduation.

It may have been a dreary day in early February, but the rain didn’t dampen the spirits of 52 Year 9 pupils from Nova Hreod Academy, Swindon, who visited the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) campus for a university experience day, packed full of uni-style learning.

This visit was part of a local schools’ partnership initiative, being delivered across the region by the RAU with education specialists Applied Inspiration.

The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) has been presented with a scale model of the Augustinian Abbey of St Mary, in recognition of the University’s support of the Abbey 900 celebrations.

The festival of celebrations, which took place throughout 2017, marked the 900th anniversary of the founding of the Augustinian Abbey of St Mary in Cirencester by King Henry 1 in 1117. The RAU was honoured to be the first festival partner and also co-sponsored a number of events in support of the initiative.

Students at the Royal Agricultural University took part in a RAG Rally this month to raise money for a number of selected charities.

On 2 February, more than 200 students in 80 vehicles took part in a rally which saw them drive to a mystery location, which was only revealed to them on the day. The students, who wore fancy dress and decorated their vehicles, were told to head for Lincoln and all set off on the 137 mile trip.

Isobel Green, a BSc (Hons) Real Estate second year student at the Royal Agricultural University has won the Fox Grant prize 2018 for the best Marketing Report in respect of a real life property.

This is the third year that Rural and Equestrian Property Consultants Fox Grant have supported the innovative learning and teaching methods employed by the module tutor Matthew Smith. It is his desire to embed employability into the assessment by making the assignment as true to life as possible.
