The impact on farming of Artificial Intelligence, methane, carbon sequestration, regenerative systems, financing, and antimicrobial resistance, are some of the issues that farmers and growers would like researchers to investigate, according to a new report launched today.

 

Welsh dairy farmer named as first ever RAU Alumnus of the Year

A dairy farmer from Wales who has previously been named as Wales Woman Farmer of the Year and has received an MBE for services to farming, has been awarded the Royal Agricultural University’s (RAU) inaugural Alumnus of the Year award.

Abi Reader, who is now Deputy President of NFU Cymru, studied for a BSc in Agriculture at what was then the Royal Agricultural College (RAC), graduating in 2003. She then stayed on to complete an MBA in Farm Business Management.

My name is Jasmine Gregory and I studied Rural Land Management. I'm really grateful to be here. I'm grateful to sort of have got this far and it's a really exciting day and I suppose a day as well of looking ahead to what's next.

So, I'm currently working as a Graduate Surveyor for Fisher German and the RAU has really helped my journey because I did a placement in my second year and during this placement I really got to know sort of what it was like working as a surveyor and actually this enabled me to um yeah secure a graduate role.

Royal Agricultural University comes top again for knowledge exchange and working with industry

For the second year running, the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) has scored high marks for its knowledge exchange activities in the annual Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) survey run by Research England.

 

Dr Olusegun Olanrele

Biography 

Senior Lecturer in real estate.

Olusegun Olanrele worked as a Senior Estate and Valuation Officer at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Lagos-Nigeria between 2001 and 2006. He joined the academic world in 2008 at the department of Estate Management and Valuation of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta – Nigeria. Olusegun also worked at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur as a Senior Lecture in Real Estate at the Faculty of Built environment (2019 – 2021).

Biography 

Appointed as Student Governor in July 2024.

Alexandra is one of our own First Class BSc (Hons) Agriculture graduates and the Students' Union (SU) President. Alexandra supports a team of Students' Union Sabbaticals and Officers to deliver major events in the student calendar like Welcome Week, RAG Week, Varsity and May Ball. She also ensures students have access to an array of SU services like academic representation and pastoral support.

University agrees pioneering partnership to help India's farmers

The Royal Agricultural University’s (RAU) expertise in agricultural innovation and business management could soon be helping farmers in India thanks to a new partnership between the Gloucestershire based university and the Himalayas Valley Educational and Charitable Trust (HVECT).

The unique partnership will offer Indian students the opportunity to study a one-year Foundation in Agriculture and Business course through HVECT’s first higher education institute, the School of Integrated Learning (SOIL), which was established in 2022.
